Welcome All Statement
We recognize that we currently live in a divided society in which many suffer discrimination and threats to economic and personal safety.
We believe there is “that of God” in everyone and that an inner Light shines in the hearts of all without regard to differences such as religion, wealth, power, privilege, racial identity, nationality, language, gender identity, sexual orientation, education, age, or ability.
We strive to be inclusive and non-judgmental, to care for the vulnerable and love our neighbor without exception:
- We welcome all to join us in Meetings for Worship.
- We stand with and speak up for victims of discrimination and intimidation. We affirm our shared responsibility to promote and defend the right of all people to equal protection and due process of law.
- We call upon our governments, employers, and academic communities to value diversity of thought, national origin, culture, faith, gender, and race. We acknowledge our shared history of structural discrimination and urge genuine equality of opportunity for communities that lack wealth, power, and privilege.
- We renounce the demonization of those who do not share our views.
- We recognize that becoming truly diverse, equitable, and inclusive is an ongoing process, requiring continuous learning, reflection, and discernment.
Following in the footsteps of Quakers before us, we pledge to work until all people are accepted, safe, and free everywhere.
