Midlothian Friends Meeting is a Quaker Congregation

We are friends and Friends. As friends, we are a community of spiritual seekers who prefer a simple and plain worship. As Friends, we are part of the Religious Society of Friends, the formal term for Quakers. We are not a traditional church. We have no priest or pastor; we are an unprogrammed Quaker meeting.

We believe there is “that of God” in everyone and that an inner Light shines in the hearts of all without regard to differences such as religion, wealth, power, privilege, racial identity, nationality, language, gender identity, sexual orientation, education, age, or ability.

We worship every Sunday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at our meetinghouse located at 900 Preservation Road, Midlothian, VA 23113. We also hold a Zoom session concurrent with the physical session. Fill out the Contact form for more information on Zoom.

Circle of Friends meets on Sunday’s morning, from 10:00 -10:45, at the meeting house and on Zoom. Circle of Friends is a friendly and open discussion group that provides opportunities for us to examine various spiritual and philosophical subjects. A topic is presented each week as a starting point for discussion, but we often venture off-topic and let the discussion lead us where it will. Come join us!

You and your children are welcome to join us. Religious Education is available on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. Children can attend the first fifteen minutes of Meeting for Worship, and at 11:15, will join Lee Finch, our teacher, and an assistant, and move to the RE building. If there is time, the children often enjoy a walk around our woods, so walking shoes are helpful. Lee and her assistant will escort the children back to the meeting house after Meeting for Worship. We want children to feel comfortable, so please feel free to join them in the RE building in the beginning, stay with them, or check on them throughout.

..“The first time I walked through the door, I immediately felt welcome and safe. It was like I was already among friends.”

Our meetinghouse is located at 900 Preservation Road, which is off Huguenot Springs Road in Powhatan County. Huguenot Springs Road can be reached from the north via Rt—288 or from the south via Midlothian Turnpike. See Directions to the Meeting House for details.
